How will AI transform the Music Business

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has already transformed several industries and is now making its presence felt in the world of music. With its ability to analyze vast amounts of data, learn patterns, and make predictions, AI has the potential to revolutionize the way we create, produce, and consume music. In this blog, we'll take a look at how AI is transforming music and what the future might hold for this exciting technology.

  1. Music creation and composition One of the most exciting ways that AI is transforming music is through the creation and composition of new songs. AI algorithms can analyze existing songs to identify patterns and create new pieces that follow the same structure. This has the potential to not only make the composition process faster, but also to help musicians generate new ideas and explore new styles.

For example, AI algorithms can be trained to mimic the styles of famous composers such as Mozart or Beethoven and create new pieces in their style. This can help musicians and composers explore new avenues and generate unique pieces that might not have been possible otherwise.

2. Music production and mixing Music production and mixing are also areas where AI is having a significant impact. AI algorithms can help automate some of the tedious and time-consuming tasks involved in producing a song, such as equalization and compression. This can help save time and resources, and allow musicians and producers to focus on the creative aspects of the production process.

In addition, AI algorithms can also be used to analyze the audio mix of a song and suggest improvements. For example, an AI algorithm can analyze the balance between the vocals, drums, and other instruments, and suggest changes to improve the overall sound.

3. Music discovery and recommendation Another important way that AI is transforming music is through music discovery and recommendation. With AI algorithms, music streaming platforms can analyze vast amounts of data about a user's listening habits, preferences, and history, and recommend new songs and artists that they might like.

This not only helps users discover new music but also helps musicians and artists reach a wider audience. For example, an AI algorithm might identify a particular genre or style of music that a user enjoys, and recommend new artists that fit that style.

4. Music performance and composition Finally, AI is also transforming music performance and composition. With AI algorithms, musicians can create live performances that are unique and dynamic, with elements that change and evolve in real-time based on the performer's actions.

In addition, AI algorithms can also be used to generate new music on-the-fly, allowing musicians to improvise and create new pieces in real-time. This has the potential to revolutionize live performance and create new and exciting experiences for both musicians and audiences.

In conclusion, AI is transforming music in many exciting and innovative ways, from music creation and production to discovery and performance. With its ability to analyze vast amounts of data, learn patterns, and make predictions, AI has the potential to revolutionize the way we create, produce, and consume music, and we can't wait to see what the future holds.

New Single Release- Shores of Home

Press Release

New Brunswick based "Whitewater Band", whose music is influenced by their Maritime roots, have released their latest song “The Shores of Home”. This song highlights the mass exodus of workers from Atlantic Canada that have migrated to the Alberta oil fields to find work over the past 5 years. Families from Atlantic Canada that are commuting back and forth to Alberta for work …4000 miles away. There is hardly a person in New Brunswick that has not been affected by family members working or commuting in Alberta.

Band Members include: Brad White; Ryan Massey; Mike Frontin; Kevin “Beat” Golding & Bradford Trecartin. Also featured on the recording is Paul Owen.

The "Whitewater Band" released their first full length album “Many Roads” in 2013, with the single “Unpredictable” receiving radio play across Canada. Included on the “Many Roads” album were Jamie Williams, Matt O’Connor (now living in Alberta), Carol Perry and award winning keyboardist Dan Cutrona. Several songs from Many Roads were featured in the movie “The Divorce” by Let Em Laugh productions. The band received a Music NB nomination for the album.

The “Shores of Home” was produced and engineered by multiple award-winning producer Paul Milner (JUNOS, SOCAN & ECMA's).The vibe on the "Shores of Home" was influenced by Shell Lane Studios, with its seaside setting and turn of the century farmhouse, located in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Distribute Music on USB

www.CustomUSBSales.com is delivering a service where bands can distribute music on USB Flash drive or webkey as outlined in the articles " weirdest-ways-to-distribute-music" by wired magazine and "think-outside-the-cd-3-simple-steps-to-releasing-your-album-on-usb" by Sonic Bids. It's a bit more expensive than the traditional CD however you can put a lot more content on a USB including multiple CD's, video, interviews, backstage passes, customized EPK’s, promo handouts or greatest hits compilations etc.Up to 64GB memory. It's a great feature for seasoned bands that have and want to deliver a lot of content. Custom USB Sales also delivers an option to use "Connect to Web" products which are similar to USB's however it drives the user to a secure web page to view the content. There is no memory built into the unit. These are even more cost effective than USB and are close in pricing to a traditional CD.Here's a video about the connect to web product.

Connect to web

ECMA and Juno Award winning producer Paul Milner of Shell Lane Studios in PEI says " This is a strong way for musicians to deliver content to their fan base, people still want to have something in hand rather than get lost in the sea of content on the internet". Each USB has a unique identifier and can be "locked" down so no copying or printing The USB can be built into the album cover so you still get the traditional way of showing off an album cover. Whitewater is thinking of releasing the upcoming song "shores of home" on CD. See example below.

Wayne Hansen CD Release

I'm glad to be a part of this, opening for Wayne's CD release Oct 24, 8:30. Brad

Facebook event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/696455090435458/

I am super excited to invite you to my CD release party for my new album ESCAPE.

The release will take place at The Barrel's Head Gastropub and Wine Bar in Rothesay, on October 24th, and feature a number of terrific local musicians that I am proud to consider friends. More info will be released as planning is finalized.

This record had been a year in the making and there has already been some great press about it. I am excited to share it with you. There is no cover for this show, instead, it is a celebration.

I hope that you can come to enjoy some great local Saint John music in one of the best live venues in Southern New Brunswick.

BTW, This is also the day I graduate from UNB with my Masters -- so we can celebrate that also.
